Leonardo Latorre Melin is the Executive Director of Regenera, a non-governmental organization that aims to promote sustainable and regenerative tourism development, with a special emphasis on protecting the cultural and natural resources of local destinations, as well as supporting families and communities where tourism serves as a tool for economic and social development.
Leonardo has various professional experience in tourism destination planning, design of special interest products and facilitation of stakeholder participation processes.
He has a Master's degree in Management and Innovation of Tourism from Universidad Austral de Chile, and diplomas in Indigenous Public Policies from Universidad Arturo Prat and Environmental Management from Universidad de Chile.
He also teaches ecotourism at DUOC Valparaíso.
Leonardo Latorre Melín es consultor experto en sostenibilidad turística con experiencia en planificación territorial, diseño de experiencias turísticas, el fortalecimiento comunitario y la conservación.
De profesión es Administrador Turístico-Cultural de la Universidad de Valparaíso y maestro No deje rastro (NOLS) con estudios de maestría en Gestión e Innovación del Turismo (UACH) y diplomados en Políticas Públicas Indígenas (UAP) y Gestión Ambiental (UCH). Es miembro fundador de la Red de Encargados de Turismo Municipal del Archipiélago de Chiloé, instancia de trabajo y colaboración municipal y docente para la escuela de Ecoturismo en el instituto profesional DUOC (Chile). Como consultor, ha liderado proyectos de diversificación económica de pescadores artesanales, planificación turística, diseño, articulación y comercialización de experiencias turísticas comunitarias, empresariales y gremiales.
