This marks a significant step in our ongoing commitment to enhancing skills development within the tourism sector. By joining the Pact, alongside the European Commission and key stakeholders, we aim to strengthen the re- and upskilling efforts for tourism professionals across the EU. The tourism industry is a vital pillar of Europe’s economy, providing millions of jobs, yet it faces continuous challenges, including evolving consumer demands, digital transformation, and sustainability goals. Ensuring that workers in this sector have access to high-quality training and lifelong learning opportunities is crucial for its long-term resilience and competitiveness. As a member of the Pact for Skills, we will contribute our expertise in tourism training, helping to build strong partnerships that support workforce development. Our focus will be on equipping professionals with the skills needed to adapt to industry changes, embrace digital innovation, and implement sustainable tourism practices. The Pact for Skills was established in December 2020 as part of the European Skills Agenda and currently covers 12 key sectors, including tourism. Its mission is to foster collaboration among businesses, training providers, and policymakers to create a skilled workforce and promote a culture of lifelong learning.
